Q: How long does the cooking class last?

A: The classes start at 7 PM and usually last until 9:30 or 10:00pm.[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Will we know ahead of time when we make a reservation what types of food we will be cooking that night?

A: Only if your name is mother nature! I will be working weekly with local fishermen and farmers to source the food for my classes. We will prepare, cook, and dine on what’s fun and sexy that day. Please mention any allergies when making your reservation.

Q: What happens if I have to cancel and can’t make it?

A: I have a one-week (7 days) cancellation policy, and as I’m running this as a one-man show I cannot afford to have no-shows (like in the restaurant world). Think of it as though it’s a concert ticket! There’s always craigslist, eBay, or give it away to a friend you owe a favor to….

Q: Do I need to bring anything to the class?

A: Normally no. But if you have special knives (or other tools) to use in class that’s fine. It’s a very casual atmosphere, but keep in mind we will be searing, sautéing and in and out of the oven is a lot. I recommend wearing long sleeve shirts that you don’t really care much about in case of simple grease splatters, and so no one gets battle scars. And no, I’m not paying to launder your dress if you get it dirty!

Q: I see that wine is included with the evening. Does that mean we get to drink as much as we want?

A: Wine and 10 people with sharp knives don’t go well together, so we will be tasting half pours of a sparkling, a white, and a red wine as we taste the dishes we’ve prepared together.

Q: Can kids come to classes?

A: Sorry, you must be 21 years old to attend my classes.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Will the food be fun and sexy?

A: Absolutely!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: What type of cuisine will we learn how to cook?

A: I’m calling it: reclaimed cuisine, very traditional French techniques using local seafood, produce, meats and game. We will get a chance to sear, sauté, bake, roast, and fry along with basic knife skills as we go through the dinner. I try to keep things on the lighter side, but you can be sure you’ll see some butter and cream throughout the night!

Q: Is it true that all of the chef Bob’s classes are 100% fat free?

A: This is true we do not charge you for the fat!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: How many different teachers will you have?

A: I will be the only teacher and only employee (not sure if that’s good or bad?)!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: What happens if by chance I cut myself while cooking. Does Chef Bob have insurance?

A: No! Just kidding, of course we do. But you will sign a waiver that we are not responsible for hospital visits. As of today no one has ever cut themselves.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: What happens if I by chance cut Chef Bob?

A: Then you are responsible for his plane ticket to Beaune, France to see his personal physician.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Will we receive a pretty folder with all of the recipes from the evening?

A: No sorry. First off, I hate writing recipes! But second, because I want everyone to learn how to taste and cook without the worry of following a recipe. You’ll see it’s easy! But of course you can take notes too.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: What kind of experience do I need to come to one of your classes?

A: If you can’t boil water you’ll be fine, if your Paul Bocuse you’ll be fine. If you’re interested in learning, I can teach anyone how to cook!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: If we come to the class, can we have all of our dishes changed to be vegetarian or vegan?

A: Sorry, but not right now I couldn’t keep the class flowing along. I will do Vegetarian only nights soon.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Do we have to come as a couple?

A: No, but single people will be paired with other single people. I recommend buying a ticket for a friend! I have five beautiful cooking stations where two people will be at each station.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: If we wanted to, could we block an an entire evening with five couples or all of our friends?

A: Yes these are actually recommended as everyone has the most fun at these classes, perfect for birthdays with friends, family fun night, bachelorette parties, or whatever else you think of.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Do we have to do the dishes at the end of the night?

A: Hell no, that wouldn’t be any fun!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Are there any souvenirs we can purchase?

A: Actually everything in my kitchen showroom is for sale. I will have Le Creuset pots and pans, Italian Mepra flatware, aprons, local handmade knives, and wines for sale.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Is there a restroom in your kitchen showroom?

A: Yes, one large handicapped bathroom for men and women, not at the same time of course!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: What if I’m allergic to everything on the planet?

A: Bring your EpiPen anyway, and we will try and work with you as best as possible.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Can I invite friends to hang out alongside as we cook?

A: Absolutely not! I only want this to be 10 people a night, so we can enjoy the intimacy of a fun dinner event.

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Can I buy gift certificates to give away as birthday, Christmas, wedding or divorce gifts?

A: Yes! It’s the perfect gift for the guy or gal who has everything, and you forgot to buy them something. We’re running a special on the divorce gift certificates (buy three: we send you one, and the other two to your lawyer)!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: If we had a ridiculous amount of money, can Chef Bob come and do a private dinner in our home for us?

A: Absolutely!

[dt_sc_hr /]

Q: Does Chef Bob do special day classes or special events from Sunday through Wednesday?

A: Yes, just ask him and refer to the previous answer.
